Help A Local Business Help Our Local Heroes
UPDATE: As cases of the virus drop and life starts to return to something closer to normal for our local businesses, we are no longer accepting donations at this time. We're going to leave the site intact in case new outbreaks or government restrictions provide a need for more help in the future. We are deeply grateful to all of those who donated. In the past couple months, you raised nearly $25,000 for the local economy and helped to feed more than 2,500 deserving healthcare workers.
Are you interested in helping the local restaurants you love continue to thrive despite coronavirus restrictions? Are you also trying to avoid gaining 100 pounds by ordering takeout seven nights a week at the same time?
A2 Neighbors was created to help both Covid-19 healthcare workers and local restaurants. We've made it simple for you to help both groups by purchasing meals from your favorite local spots to show some gratitude to local heroes.
Who are you feeding? We are working with Michigan Medicine, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and VA Ann Arbor to channel the meals you purchase to different departments within the hospital as needed. As we grow, we plan to expand our list of recipients and give you the ability to choose exactly who will benefit from the food you purchase.
How does it work? Pick a restaurant from our growing list of partners (see below). We've included some details about what kinds of food each restaurant will be providing and how much each item costs. Donations of any size are much appreciated. We're planning to place orders that will provide meals for at least 25-50+ healthcare workers per order, so if your amount doesn't cover a full bill we'll combine it with others until we have enough to feed a full shift of workers. Once we get your orders, we'll place them with the restaurant and make sure the food gets to its deserving recipients safely.
The operators of this site are not associated with any local restaurants or businesses. We live in Ann Arbor and thought we'd try to make it simpler for people to lend a hand. We have partnered with SPARK, an established, local non-profit organization in hopes of making you feel more secure as a donor and to make sure your donation will be tax deductible. If you have any questions about making a donation, what we're doing or how you can help, please send us a note at [email protected] or say hello on Facebook or Twitter.
